You have a free day in Mykonos. Mykonos Town (Chora) is the picturesque Greek island, with fishing boats bobbing side by side with luxury boats, the whitewashed streets, beaches, restaurants and bars; you will not be short of things to explore.
Next up: Santorini! After our ferry ride, we will wander through the old town of Fira to get our bearings. Santorini is an island formed by volcanic activity. It has been said that the sunsets here are the best in the world. From the Caldera, watch an epic sunset with breathtaking views of the volcano & neighbouring islands. See why the white-washed houses and blue domed churches make Santorini the iconic postcard city of Greece.
We’ve got a free day today. Relax on the red or black sand beaches, wander the streets and browse through the shops of the main town or take an optional quad biking tour. Explore the island’s volcano and check out an active crater and hot springs in our optional volcano tour. The choices are endless!
It’s time to say goodbye to Greece and hello to Turkey. In the morning we will take a ferry from Santorini back to Athens and from there we will fly to Istanbul. Once we land, keep your eyes open for the Travel Talk sign, as we pick you up from the airport and take you to our Istanbul hotel. The evening is free for you to explore the magnificent city of Istanbul.
Meet at the hotel lobby at 6:30pm as for a fast and informal meeting with the your tour guide including some information about the adventures ahead. Later, there will be an optional group dinner to get to know the rest of your group.
After breakfast, we will wander through the old town of Istanbul on a guided city tour. We will be ticking off bucket list sights like the Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, majestic Topkapi Palace and the Hagia Sophia.
Today we depart Istanbul for the shores of Gallipoli. We will pay our respects to those who have fallen as we visit all the important memorial sites in the region including Anzac Cove, Chunuk Bair and Lone Pine.
After breakfast, it’s time to hit the road for our first stop of the day, the ancient city of Troy. More than just a Hollywood blockbuster, visit the setting of Homer’s epic, Iliad, and see the ancient city ruins. Don’t forget to get a pic of the famous wooden horse. In the evening we arrive to the coastal town of Kusadasi.
The best preserved ancient town in Turkey, Ephesus, will be our first stop. In the afternoon we depart for Fethiye where we can explore the buzzing resort town.
Kick off the day with a pit stop to the huge canyon of Saklikent. We will then make our way to Oludeniz. Besides its spectacular beaches, glittering waters and breathtaking natural scenery, Oludeniz is also popular for its water sport activities. Here you can relax on the exquisite beach or join one of the adventure activities including paragliding and microlighting. Late in the afternoon we will return to the hotel in Fethiye.
After breakfast we make our way to Dalyan, a small town in the south-western coast popular for its natural and unspoiled beauty. We will join a boat trip to visit the most popular mud bath in Turkey, and we will then continue to Iztuzu beach, homeland of the famous Caretta Caretta turtles. After a scenic boat ride, we will reach Iztuzu sandbar with fine sand and turquoise sea. We return back to our hotel in Fethiye in the late afternoon
