Once you mingle with some locals at its delightful pubs, you will see that the people of Osaka have a sense of humor you won’t find anywhere else. It is the heart and soul of the Kansai region. Within its ever-developing modernity and cosmopolitan flair, Osaka harbors the age-old values of trade, culinary arts, and architecture.

Blissfully one with the emerald trees surrounding it, Osaka Castle is a calling card for the city. It is famous for the course-changing role it played in the recent history of Japan. A visit will reveal its architectural beauty as much as its historical value. Not far from the castle is Kuromon food market, a must-visit attraction to witness Osaka’s true character. Food is subject to worship in the city, and it is most happening in this covered marketplace with around 150 shops. Fish and other seafood are the main goods. But, there are all sorts of things ornating the stalls, from fresh produce to sweets and clothes. Street food is delicious and exhilarating, yet, the culinary experience won’t be complete until you try some local dishes in the Dotombori district. Emerging every few minutes on the billboard-packed pedestrian walks, the restaurants are overwhelmingly inviting. You will have a hard time picking where to spend the night.
