All visitors to Jordan are required to have a visa, which can be arranged through Jordanian consulates worldwide or upon arrival in Jordan. Visitors from the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the EU and South Africa may acquire their visa upon arrival in Jordan. Please note that single-entry tourist visa fee is 40 JOD and it can only be paid in JOD (Jordanian Dinar). You can check if you are able to obtain a visa on arrival via http://international.visitjordan.com.

Passport validity entry requirements: Travellers entering Jordan must have a passport valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date.

JORDAN PASS is the best option for Jordan tours. It covers the entrances fees to 36 touristic sites, including Petra, and waives the visa fees for tourists. Jordan Pass must be purchased 3 days prior to your arrival date. We strongly recommend the Jordan Wanderer package.

Yes, all passengers travelling with Travel Talk must have travel insurance before participating in any of our tours. Your guide will collect your travel insurance details on the first day of your trip.

For ideal sightseeing conditions, the best time to visit Jordan is during Spring (March to May) or Autumn (September to November). At these times of the year the temperatures are cool enough to enjoy exploring Jordan’s iconic sites.
If you also enjoy warm and sunny weather, Summer can also be quite pleasant.

Internet access is now relatively easy in Amman, Aqaba and other major cities.
Jordan has a relatively widespread communication infrastructure and internet usage in big cities. WiFi coverage can be limited, especially in remote areas.

If you’d like to get a local sim card in Jordan, you will require two things – an unlocked mobile phone and a passport. It is best to get your mobile phone unlocked at home. There may be some conditions you should be aware of, so check with your phone provider.

The currency of Jordan is Jordanian Dinar. Is denoted by JOD or JD.

Tap water in Jordan is generally safe to drink, but it’s better to use bottled water for a short trip. Bottled water is available throughout the country. However please consider using a reusable water bottle, especially if you’re on a longer trip, and reduce your use of plastic!

Credit cards are accepted at hotels, restaurants and larger shops, including Visa and MasterCard. Please note that many smaller shops still prefer cash payment in the Jordanian currency, and cash is essential for shopping in the local souks.

There are many ATMs around cities and towns, so withdrawing cash is not a problem. ATM access may be more difficult in remote areas. Displays of affection by LGBTQ+ couples may attract a negative response.
Homosexuality is illegal in most Islamic countries in the Middle East, but in Jordan gay sex is legal, and the age of consent is 16. Public displays of affection by heterosexuals are frowned upon, and the same rules apply to gays and lesbians, although same-sex hand-holding is a common sign of friendship in Jordan.

Please kindly inform us when booking, If you do not identify with the gender stated in your passport. We will adjust the room configuration accordingly. For travellers who do not want to share a room, some tours have a single supplement option.

Arrival airport transfer is included for flights landing to Amman on the first day of your tour between 5am and 11:30pm, or if you have booked pre-accommodation with us. You must inform our call center or [email protected] of your flight details (date of flight, flight number, arrival time and name of travelers) at least 14 days prior to your arrival date. If you do not receive confirmation that your pick-up is arranged, please contact us.

You will be picked up by a Travel Talk representative holding a Travel Talk sign at the airport.

Departure airport transfer isn’t available unless your tour ends in Cairo.

The welcome meeting will be held in the hotel lobby around 6pm with your group and guide. You can find the arrival information for Jordan tours here. If there is any change in your arrival hotel, we will send you an e-mail to inform you before the trip.

Don’t worry if you will miss the welcome meeting on Day 1 as some travellers arrive late in the day – just make sure to let us know in advance.

Depending on the dates and hotel availability, we may be able to arrange pre/post-tour accommodation.

Solo travellers often join our Jordan tours to meet and travel with like-minded adventurers, forming longstanding friendships. We also strive to provide a relaxed and sociable tour experience to allow the group to weld throughout the journey.

Solo travellers will be roomed with another solo traveller of the same gender, or can upgrade to a solo room by paying the single supplement.

There are always solo travelers on our tours. If you don’t mind being roomed with another single traveler of the same gender, you do not need to pay the supplement. Single supplement is for travelers who would like to stay in a single room for the duration of their tour.

Our Jordan tours do not include airfare to/from the destination, and we do not advise on, ticket or sell flights. It is your responsibility to make it to the starting point of your tour on time.

If you provide your dietary requirements at the time of booking, we will do our best to make the necessary arrangements where available for our Jordan tours. You can leave a comment under the “Notes” section when making an online booking or simply contact us. Please note that gluten-free & vegan options are quite limited in the country.

Good news, there isn’t any luggage restriction on our Jordan tours as long as you’re happy to carry your own luggage! If your tour includes camp stay, we highly recommend you to pack a smaller bag as well, so that you can leave your luggage on the bus.

Tips are a common reward for service staff in Jordan. Your tour guide and crew will be especially appreciative and honored with this kind of traditional gratitude at the end of your tour.

You can join a tour late or miss the Welcome Meeting on Day 1 if you inform us prior to the departure date. Please note that it will be your responsibility to make the necessary arrangements to catch up with the group.

Ramadan (Ramazan) is the Islamic holy month, during which Muslims fast from sunrise until sunset. Fasting means ‘nil by mouth’ including food, water and cigarettes. Ramadan dates move every year, please see below the dates for 2020 and 2021. Some local cafes and restaurants close during the day; however tourists are not expected to fast, and there are many cafes and restaurants that stay open to cater for you.

During Ramadan, you are encouraged to show your respect by not walking around in public eating, chewing gum, smoking or drinking (especially alcohol). It is fine to do so in your hotel or in a cafe/restaurant recommended by your tour leader. Your tour leader will organise lunches and dinners to make Ramadan easier for you. During the month you will find that tourist sites often close early to allow staff to return home in time to break their fast, and shops often open late and close early.

Sleeping bags are not requried for camping as we stay in sedentary campsites, and provide bedding and blankets during the winter months.

We would recommend to bring a swimsuit & small towel, head scarf, and comfortable walking shoes for all Jordan tours.
