With our fascination only surmounting, continue on to Trail Ridge Road, also referred to as the ‘Highway to the Sky’! Presenting marvellous views in every direction as far as the eye can see, the road weaves past towering peak, through tundra overlooking the natural treeline to cross the Continental Devide at over 3,700 metres above sea level. Soaking in more of the Old West, ride onwards to Cheyenne, the state capital of Wyoming. The beating heart of the vast railroad network in the U.S., Cheyenne displays an incredible collection of steam engines, including the world’s largest steam locomotive, one of eight ‘Big Boys’ that remain on display across the country.

Drive past the mountains of Wyoming to Yellowstone, America’s first National Park! Tag along your expert guide to enjoy an in-depth tour of this immense geothermal wonderland which includes waterfalls, geysers, canyons, colourful wildlife and more! Some of the incredible highlights will be Yellowstone Lake, Old Faithful, Yellowstone Canyon’s majestic falls, and the beautiful Hayden Valley. Although some of the iconic landmarks may look familiar, witnessing their might up close is a humbling experience for all!

In the morning, take a scenic journey through Southern Idaho to Utah. Arriving in Salt Lake City, known for its Mormon Community, embark on a short tour of the state capital to find your bearings. See how the Mormon followers of Brigham Young built one of the best-planned cities in the country. We visit the State Capital building, famed Temple Square and Tabernacle before arriving at our hotel for the evening. May we suggest an optional dinner at the Rooftop Restaurant alongside inspiring views of the Salt Lake Valley and Temple Square?
Heading south through Provo, home to Brigham Young University, we make our way to Canyonlands National Park. Here we get to see a wilderness of countless canyons and other-worldly buttes carved by the mighty Colorado River. The arms of the river divide this topographic wonderland into four: the Island in the Sky, the Needles, the Maze & the Rivers themselves. Then, visit some of the most pictersque spots in the ‘Island in the Sky’ mesa, resting on sheer sandstone cliffs 300-meters above the plain. We finish off the day at Moab with a refreshing sleep.
Our journey continues through this natural dreamland as we visit one of Utah’s Mighty 5, Arches National Park. Freely stroll a fantasy-land of contrasting colous, landforms and textures unlike any other place on earth. This inspirational park boasts over 2,000 natural stone arches, in addition to countless soaring pinnacles and giant balanced rocks! If you are up for more adventure, you may join an optional Jet Boat Float trip on Colorado River. Return to Moab for overnight.

Learn about the rich history and of the region as we make our way to Chelly National Monument via Chinle. Situated in the Navajo Tribal Lands, the park is acclaimed for hunderds of ancient pueblo ruins nesting on its steep canyon walls. Witness the peculiar architecture, artefacts and delicately preserved rocky landmarks which shed some light onto the lives of the canyon’s earliest settlers.
In the morning, we ride on to Gallup via the Navajo Reservation and the exceptional landcape of western New Mexico. Somewhat reliving in the old days of Route 66, Gallup attracts visitors with a classic piece of Americana with its strips of neon signs, nowadays rarely found. Freely roam the town centre and enjoy some of its many restaurants, shops and memoribilia native to the American Southwest. We drive on to Albuquerque to finish the day.

Take a moment to appreciate the fascinating turquoise deposits with Sandia Mountains and Cibola National Forest at its backdrop. Nestled at the foothills of the ‘Rockies’, lies Santa Fe, the oldest capital city of the U.S. The region exhibits the charming landscape which inspired vibrantly colourful expressions of art from its own Georgia O’Keeffe. Enjoy ample leisure time this afternoon to explore the town’s quaint streets and world-renowned art galleries, Santa Fe is a heaven for history buffs and cultural explorers!
Cruise along the Rio Grande as it twirls through canyons of red-rock cliffs, gradually ascending to a height providing marvellous views of the Taos Valley landscape. Here we will visit the one and only Taos Pueblo, the only living Native American community that has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a National Historic Landmark. Learn about the rich history and see the unique multistorey structures of adobe which have been inhabited for over a millenium! Then we head back north for Colorado Springs after a a stop at the Garden of the Gods! One of the most iconic sights for professional and amateur photographers alike, witness dramatic views of giant rock formations of red sandstone leaning against the snow-ridden Pikes Peak and vast blue skies. Tonight, discover how the temperate climate and fascinating natural beauty of Colorado Springs attracted visitors for decades.
Today we ride back to Denver to enjoy the state capitol at your own pace. You can freely explore some of the city’s must-see highlights including the U.S. Mint, Larimer Square or the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall. Stroll the City Park with impressive mountain views, shop around the town and sample local delicacies.
Our incredible adventure will end in Denver after bidding farewell to newly-made friends and check-out of the hotel by 11am.
