Set your alarms for 7.30am and fill up on plenty of breakfast before a big day exploring Egypt’s iconic Ancient Wonder of the World – the Pyramids and Sphinx! Follow your guide for a tour across the ancient site to learn about the 4,600-year-old wonders. After everyone has had their dose of awe, we’ll head out to Sakkara to see the iconic step pyramid built in 2700 B.C. Later in the afternoon, board an overnight sleeper train to Aswan.
Wake up in Aswan, ready to explore on a city tour with your local guide. Visit the Unfinished Obelisk for a look into the incredible building methods used to create the four-sided, hallmark monuments that are placed at the entrances of Egyptian temples. Take some time to walk along the 42-metre long lying bed of granite and learn about its significance from your guide. Visit the Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, divine mother of the pharaohs. The temple is set beautifully on an island in the middle of the Nile. We will then arrive at the hotel for check in at 5.30pm with the option to join a traditional Nubian dinner in the evening.
Enjoy a free morning to explore Aswan and the banks of the Nile River at your own pace. If you are feeling up to it in the afternoon, join the optional trip to the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Abu Simbel. It is a must-do for all keen historians!
Time to relax and enjoy the cool breeze of the Nile. Jump on-board a traditional Felucca sailboat, bound for the Elephantine and Kitchener Islands on the Nile. After our river excursion, the rest of the day is yours to wander around Aswan as you wish.
As we hop back onboard the coach and drive north towards Kom Ombo. Visit the Kom Ombo Temple, dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek. Next stop will be Edfu, home to one of the largest and best-preserved temples in Egypt. Dedicated to the falcon god Horus, the temple was built over 180-years from 237 BC to 57 BC. We’ll arrive in Luxor in the late afternoon, before checking out the Luxor Temple in the evening. Explore the dim-light temple after dark and learn from your guide of the temple complexes ancient history, dating back to the 14th century B.C.
The West bank of the Nile River awaits you! Follow your guide to the Valley of the Kings, also known as the ‘City of the Dead’, home to fancy royal tombs carved into desert rocks and filled with treasures for the Pharaoh afterlife. Next up, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and Colossi of Memnon. Not to forget, a visit to the vast Karnak Temple Complex, one of the most important religious centres of ancient Egypt with its marvellous temples. Your Egyptologist guide will enlighten you with the most intriguing stories and mythologies from the temple complex. Feeling adventurous?
Take to the skies on an optional hot air balloon ride over Luxor. In the evening, board an overnight sleeper train to Cairo.
The journey continues with one of the most important museums dedicated to the ancient world. Egyptian Museum of Cairo houses around 120,000 ancient Egyptian relics and antiquities. Then roam around Cairo stopping by the Citadel of Saladin, Mosque of Mohammed Ali, the Hanging Church and the world-famous Khan el-Khalili bazaar. Just as the recent reviews below, I also went with Sam as our guide! I would say this is my most immersive tour yet. Cannot be beat. I have never had a tour guide who had a tour of his hometown and opened up some details of his personal life to his tour group, like showing us the school he grew up in, and he seems to personally know everybody in Aswan haha. Touring his hometown at night and seeing how locals interact with each other in their daily lives is just something I have never felt so deeply in a tour. The size of our cohort helped for that intimate experience that larger groups just can’t achieve (yeah we lucked out with a small group). The tour hit the highlights of all areas, even the extra day I had in Alexandria was also done well.
A Travel Talk representative Paul was waiting immediately there at the gates upon landing and he breezed me through the passport checks and baggage claim, and got me a personal driver too. It felt like a VIP experience. Same deal coming back, they arranged the drop-off service even though my flight was at 5 am! Shoutout to Bisho, our coordinator!
The only deductions I could think of are honestly beyond Travel Talk’s control. For accommodations, two of the three hotels charge extra for some amenities like the spa and at the third one, I sliced my leg open from hitting the corner of my bed. Thankfully it wasn’t a nail nor a sharp metallic object. For transportation, it’s the aging sleeper trains. But don’t worry, the rocking will send you to sleep right away!
But overall, the Egyptian experience will just blow you away and will leave you enchanted. You’ll have no regrets, I swear. Just book it. Your adventure of a lifetime!

We had an amazing experience with Travel Talk in Egypt. Our guide Sam was welcoming, knowledgeable, and went the extra mile for the travelers. We got to see a large variety of Egyptian sites – pyramids, temples, tombs, markets. Although the itinerary was very full-on, we’d recommend a tour as the best way to see Egypt on a budget with limited time. Travel Talk were very helpful in assisting when our bags didn’t arrive at the airport. Would recommend!

Egypt was one of the most amazing trips of my life and I’m so glad I did it with travel talk! The sights were incredible the hotels were great and everyone was so kind. Our guide Sam really pushed it over the top he was amazing! So nice and easy to get along with and we learned some amazing things with him. We were a little hesitant to book because we had never taken a group tour before and hadn’t heard of Travel Talk, but we are so glad we took the chance. Travel Talk provides an excellent service. We received support in selecting the right tour, assistance with airport transfers, and throughout the holiday, they handled the logistics, removing any stress and allowing us to fully enjoy the experience.
The tour is packed with exciting activities and takes you across Egypt to visit all the iconic sites. The whole trip was quite surreal, with each day seeming to top the one before.

Sam not only guided us through the historical sites but also showed us around his local area, offering a more authentic experience that we wouldn’t have been able to access on our own. I recently did this tour and i would highly recommend. Our guide, Sam, made our trip memorable. I would give more than 5 stars if i could for him. He took us to local places in his home town of Aswan, made travel a breeze, and gave us lots of information about all the places we visited. Not only this but he was a hero to others on the group, getting a lost passport back and helping others with Egyptian airlines to get lost luggage back. The hotels were excellent, our tour group was great fun, and the itinerary was packed of great sightseeing. So glad i did a tour as i think it would have been tricky to navigate Egypt by myself. I couldn’t recommend TravelTalk for Egypt any more and if you get Sam as your guide, you are in for a great trip.

I had the absolute best time on this trip! Truly an unforgettable experience. I’m Egyptian but a lot of this is new territory for me. Thankfully, our guide MoMo was an expert. He’s very knowledgeable and clearly also very passionate about his work! He always went above and beyond to make sure we all felt safe and comfortable.
