Riding nortward from Boston, cross historic landmarks carrying centuries of history and some of East Coast’s prime beaches. On our way to Cape Neddick, we pass through Portsmouth, the oldest community in New Hampshire. Originally a thriving fishing community, the town is also home to a number of historic buildings. Make a stop at the Cape Neddick Lighthouse, placed on a small rocky island just off the shore, ‘the Nubble’ is acknowledged as the most photographed lighthouse in the United States. Then we continue to the quaint coastal town of Kennebunkport, voted as the ‘place to be all year’ and where many prominent U.S. politicians including ex-presidents enjoy their summer homes. Onwards to Portland, Maine! Soak in the fresh ocean air, Portland is the place to enjoy some delicate seafood with views of lighthouses along the coast. Freely explore Portland in the afternoon, walk the cobblestone streets at the famous Old Port and make sure to sample the renowned Maine lobster roll!
