Fill up on breakfast before heading to the airport for an included flight to Cusco! The city of Cusco is the gateway to Peru’s incredible valleys, ruins, villages, and world-famous trails. Follow your guide around the centre of Cusco to discover in-depth the Capital of the Inca Empire! You’ll visit San Blas, a quaint neighborhood that is home to many renowned artists. Stroll along its cobblestone alleys as you make your way toward its iconic church, which features a beautiful pulpit carved from a single block of wood. Then, follow the guided walking tour towards Hatum Rumiyuq Street, translating to “Of the Old Rock”, to admire the famous Piedra de los Doce Ángulos (Twelve-Sided Stone). Feel free to join an optional city tour to leave no stone unturned or finish up a big day exploring Cusco with an optional cocktail making class to perfect the art of Peru’s favourite cocktail, the Pisco Sour!

This morning we’ll head towards the Sacred Valley, where our journey into the ruins and mystique of Peru truly begins! But first, we’ll visit Awanacancha – home to the world’s most beautiful camelids (Llamas, Alpacas, Vicuñas, and Guanacos). After snapping a few Llama selfies and witnessing the ancient Incan art of weaving, hop back on board the coach and grab a window seat as we continue into the depths of the Sacred Valley. We’ll make another stop at Pisac, where Incan and colonial influences blend to create a unique way of life for the locals. Explore the quaint town famous for artisan markets where you’ll be able to splash some cash on fine jewelry, ceramic and textile craftwork! Visit the Amaru Community and learn of their rural way of life in the Sacred Valley. The community has preserved its pre-Hispanic ancestral customers and the villages open their doors to share their way of life, beliefs, traditions, and culture. Join the Amaru people for a traditional lunch surrounded by the serenity of Sacred Valley.

Today is all yours! Enjoy plenty of free time to explore Sacred Village at your own pace. If you’re feeling adventurous join an optional tour to Ollantaytambo and Yucay to explore the impressive ruins and iconic stone terraces along the hillside in the Sacred Valley. Or if you’re after something a little different than ruins and mountainside, join an optional tour to Maras and Moray. Here you’ll find thousands of salt pool terraces strategically dug into the mountainside of the Sacred Valley. These impressive white and blush pools of salt have been used for centuries to mine salt in the Sacred valley.

Get ready to tick off an iconic Wonder of the World at the awe-inspiring ancient city of Machu Picchu! We’ll arrive by train and private transfer before heading straight to the heart and soul of Machu Picchu, the mountain citadel itself! Up until 1911, the ‘lost city’ of Machu Picchu was buried in jungle growth amongst the mountains. Today, it is Peru’s premier tourist attraction, welcomed by misty mountain serenity and the beautiful stone architecture of temples, terraces, and palaces standing 2,420 metres in the sky! We will follow in the footsteps of the ancient Incas from the 15th century as we take a tour of the magical citadel led by our private local guides. Make the most of this bucket-list photo opportunity and soak in the surroundings!

In the morning we hop on board a train to Ollantaytambo, a neighbouring town in the Sacred Valley. Snaking up the hills, you’ll find ruins and terraces dominate the beautiful town of Ollantaytambo from every angle. Find a nice spot in the quaint, cobblestone streets, and enjoy a traditional meal amongst the locals. This afternoon we’ll head back to the capital city, Cusco. Visit the Yucay Museo or Museum of living culture – Here we’ll learn about the washing, dyeing, spinning, and weaving processes all involved in creating Peru’s iconic textile wool goods.

Today we’ll say goodbye to Cusco and hop onboard a short flight back to Lima! Take in all the city’s sights with a panoramic tour through Colonial Lima including views of the Main Square, Government Palace, Cathedral of Lima, and City Hall, and learn about the fascinating local history.

In the afternoon, join your guide on a walking tour of Miraflores and enjoy an optional bike tour along the boardwalk and the luxurious districts of Lima. Miraflores offers stunning cliffside views perfect for a scenic cycle. Alternatively, join an optional Peruvian cooking class where you’ll learn the country’s best dishes and shop for fresh products at a local market. In the evening, head out for an optional tour of one of the world’s most impressive water fountain performances – the Magic Water Circuit of Lima – We’re talking lights, music and interactive displays! Or explore the colourful streets of Lima after dark at your own pace.
