Trebinje
Among the first-choice destinations in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Trebinje leaves visitors in a much-deserved delight.
Trebinje is a city blessed by nature, situated on the banks of Trebišnjica river with its cozy small-town vibe. On a clear day, the reflection of the entire town falls on the silky river, creating a view so pretty that it beats even the best Monet paintings. Orthodox churches and old-style cottages cliffs add to its picturesque image. A down-to-earth life awaits at the Old Town. It is hard to see a trace of luxury or touristy glamor in Trebinje. This is the very reason travelers find their way to the town.
One of the most impressive structures in Trebinje is Arslanagića Ćuprija, a well-visited landmark decorating the serene river. It may not be as iconic as Stari Mostar. But, the bridge has a history equally poignant, coming to life once again stone by stone after the original sank. For a joyous afternoon, head a few blocks away to Trg Slobode. There, ageless trees and unhurried pavement cafes offer a quiet retreat from the sun. The rich history and culture of the town are on display in the surrounding museums and the hilltop monastery Hercegovačka Gračanica.
